Breaking News: Professionals Better Than Amateurs

Phinally!

And so it begins. In an exhibition game this afternoon, the Phillies beat Florida State University 8-0, scoring 8 runs off 11 hits. Drew Naylor started for the Phils and picked up the win. The real stuff—and April 1st—can't come soon enough.

And here's your chance to make a prediction for the 2011 season: how many games will Cole Hamels win this year? Go!

I say he gets the run support this year, the number 4 spot gets him easier match-ups, and all combines for 18 wins.

You know I've been a HUGE Cole fan since his first season in pinstripes (and when I saw in the media guide that he is the only player who lists Philly as his primary residence I liked him even more) All reports say he looks UNBELIEVABLE already this spring, so I say he wins 20 and the Cy Young for the first (but not last) time in his career!

Gonna go with 20 wins, too. I agree with all the reasoning above and just have a feeling this could be Cole's year! Well, I guess 2008 was Cole's year but y'know.

Also: hi Mom! I'm glad you figured out how to comment. Ha.
